The author

Vikhyat Chaudhry

Co-Founder, CTO, Buzz Solutions

Vikhyat Chaudhry is an engineer, entrepreneur, and one of the few people working directly at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the electric grid. He is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Buzz Solutions, a company that builds visual AI technology to inspect, monitor, and protect the power infrastructure that modern civilization depends on.

Born and raised in New Delhi, India, where the unreliable power of his childhood first taught him how much of modern life rests on infrastructure most people never see, he went on to pursue a graduate degree in energy engineering and machine learning at Stanford University, with a focus on smart grids and the systems that keep electricity flowing. Before founding Buzz Solutions in 2017, he was leading AI/ML teams at Cisco Systems. Also named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of 2021 in Energy, he brings a technology vision to his entrepreneurial ambitions and acumen.

For more than a decade, his work has placed him inside the worlds this book describes, in utility control rooms and substation yards, along transmission corridors, and in the boardrooms where the future of energy and intelligence is being decided. His writing and commentary have appeared in major utility outlets such as T&D World, IEEE, PowerMag, and Energy Central, as well as in major publications like Forbes, BBC, and others, and he is a frequent voice at industry conferences on the convergence of AI, energy, and critical infrastructure.
